Industrial Analytics Portal
My first React code: an enterprise portal with role-based permissions and three languages, written in my first year of programming.
The problem
An industrial analytics portal needs far more than charts: role-based access, product catalogs, trend views and an interface that works in the languages of the region.
What I did
I wrote the portal in React 17 with TypeScript on Elastic UI: around twenty components, user management with role-based permissions, catalogs and overview/trending views, and internationalization with i18next in Spanish, English and Portuguese with automatic language detection. It was my first React and TypeScript project, started a month after joining my first job.
The outcome
78 commits between July and November 2021. It is the starting point of the whole evolution: the same person who wrote interfaces to visualize data ended up, four years later, building the engines that make the decisions.
How it was built
- Login with role permissionsInput
- User and data contextContext API
- Catalogs and productsThe portal's domain
- Overview and trending viewsData for deciding
- Interface in three languagesi18next with auto-detection
- Portal operable by roleOutput
2021 code, my first year programming. It stands as a snapshot of the starting point: even then the problem was not drawing charts, but solving role-based access, shared state and an interface that worked in three languages.
